Type: Night vision monoculars Brand: Sionyx

The Opsin is a digital night vision monocular built to be worn on a helmet mount and walked with, which is why it has a true 1x view, a wide 45° field of view and a latency Sionyx quotes at under one frame at up to 90 frames per second. Its 1280×1024 colour sensor (XQE-1351) is rated to under 1 millilux across 400–1,200 nm behind a 15 mm f/1.3 lens, and Sionyx quotes 150 m detection of a man-sized target. There is no infrared illuminator.

It uses a 1920×1080 AMOLED display, records video, stills and audio to microSD (up to 256 GB), and has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Power is an external pack of four 18650 cells (42.9 Wh, 298 g) worn separately, rated at up to 10 hours with all features on or 14 hours viewing only. The head unit is IP67, rated to a 2 m drop, operates from -20 to 55 °C and weighs 301 g.

It suits hands-free walking and boat work in colour; the US price of $1,995 puts it against Gen 2+ tubes.
