Privacy policy

This site collects as little as it can. Here is exactly what, and why.

Who we are

The data controller is CentraServe Ltd, publisher of nightvisiongear.co.uk. Contact: the contact form.

What we collect

• Server logs. Our web server records each request's IP address, time, URL, referrer and browser string, as every web server does. They are used only to keep the site running and secure, and are rotated and deleted automatically after a few weeks.
• Search terms. If you use the site search, the words you typed are in the request log above. They are not linked to you.
• Contact form. If you write to us we keep your message and the email address you give, for as long as it takes to deal with it and for our records. We do not add you to any list.
• Cookies. The site itself sets none. If advertising is switched on, a consent banner appears first and Google AdSense only loads if you accept; your choice is stored in a single first-party cookie (nv_consent) for six months. Google's use of advertising cookies is described in Google's advertising privacy notice.

What we do not do

No accounts, no newsletters, no tracking pixels, no analytics scripts, no selling or sharing of personal data. Links to Amazon carry our affiliate tag; what Amazon does with your visit is governed by Amazon's privacy notice.

Legal basis and your rights

We process server logs and contact messages under legitimate interests (running and securing the site; answering you). Advertising cookies are set only with your consent, which you can withdraw by clearing the cookie. Under UK GDPR you can ask what we hold about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk). Ask us and we will answer within a month.
