Type: Thermal monoculars Brand: AGM
The Taipan TM25-384 is a compact 384×288, 12 µm thermal monocular with a quoted 35 mK sensitivity and a 25 mm lens. Base magnification is 2.5x, digital zoom reaches 20x, the field of view is 10.5° and AGM states a 1,180 m detection range. The sensor refreshes at 50 Hz.
The 1280×960 LCOS display is sharp for the class. It records photo and video to 8 GB of internal memory and streams over Wi-Fi. The built-in battery is rated at more than 7.5 hours. The body is IP67 and weighs about 313 g.
AGM has discontinued the first Taipan range in favour of the Taipan V2, so this unit now appears as clearance or used stock, often at a price that makes it one of the cheaper 384 sensors available. It suits mixed farmland and woodland use within about 300 m. Its 35 mK sensitivity is a step behind current 18–25 mK units on mild, damp nights.
