Type: Thermal monoculars Brand: ThermTec

The Wild 650L is the long-range, rangefinding model of ThermTec's Wild series. Its 640×512, 12 µm detector is quoted at 18 mK and runs at 50 Hz behind a 50 mm lens, giving a 2.8x base magnification, an 8.8° field of view, continuous zoom to 4x (11.2x total) and a stated detection range of 2,600 m. A Class 1, 905 nm laser rangefinder reads to 1,000 m at ±1 m.

It shares the Wild 335's 1024×768 AMOLED display, 64 GB recording with on-screen data, picture-in-picture, heat tracking, GPS, electronic stabilisation and Wi-Fi hotspot. Power is a removable 18650 cell rated at 8 hours. The body is IP67, operates from -20 to 50 °C and weighs 540 g. Figures are from ThermTec's March 2024 datasheet.

It suits open hill, moor and large fields where ranging a distant animal matters, and estate or security work that needs distances reported. In woodland the 50 mm view is narrow.
