Type: Thermal monoculars Brand: Pulsar
The Axion 2 XQ35 Pro is a pocket-sized thermal monocular built around a 384×288, 17 µm detector with a sensor sensitivity of 25 mK (Pulsar quotes under 18 mK for the complete system) behind a 35 mm F1.0 lens. Base magnification is 2x with digital zoom to 8x, the field of view is 10.7° and the stated detection range for a deer-sized object is 1,300 m.
It uses a 640×400 AMOLED display, records 528×400 video and stills to 16 GB of internal memory, and streams to Pulsar's Stream Vision 2 app over Wi-Fi. The removable APS 5 battery is rated at 11 hours and swaps in seconds. The body is IPX7 (submersible to 1 m) and weighs 380 g with the battery.
Pulsar has marked it discontinued, but it remains widely stocked in the UK. It suits deer watchers, smallholders and security users on mixed ground who want a proven unit with a long swappable battery. The 640×400 display is the one spec that now trails rivals.
