Type: Night vision binoculars Brand: Nightfox
The Whisker is a two-eyed digital night vision unit with a single 1920×1080 sensor behind an f/1.6 lens and a wide 2.86-inch 960×376 display viewed through both eyepieces. Nightfox quotes a zoom range of 1x to 10x (57° field of view at 1x narrowing to 11° at 10x) plus an 8x digital magnification figure; treat the 1–10x as the device's working zoom range. The 3 W 850 nm illuminator gives a stated night range of 270 m.
It records 1080p video at 30 frames per second and stills to a memory card, and has no Wi-Fi. The built-in 5,000 mAh battery is rated at 10 hours with the illuminator off and 5 hours of mixed use. Weight is 609 g. Nightfox lists an RRP of £149.99.
It suits garden and hide watching where two-eyed comfort and a long battery matter, and recording what you see. The wide view at 1x makes it easy to find things; the picture at 10x is a crop.
