Type: Night vision monoculars Brand: Sionyx

The Aurora Pro is a different kind of digital night vision device: a colour camera with an ultra-low-light sensor (Sionyx quotes under 1 millilux sensitivity across 400–1,100 nm) that shows a colour picture by moonlight and starlight without an infrared illuminator. The 16 mm f/1.4 lens gives a 1x view with 3x digital zoom; Sionyx quotes detection of a man-sized target at 150 m under a quarter moon. No illuminator is fitted, though one can be added.

It uses a 1024×768 micro-OLED viewfinder, records 720p video to microSD (up to 256 GB; 32 GB supplied) and streams over Wi-Fi. Two removable batteries are supplied, each rated at about 2 hours. The body is IP67, survives a 1 m drop, operates from -20 to 50 °C and weighs 274 g.

It is popular with sailors and boaters in the United States, and suits anyone who wants a wide, colour, passive night view and video, and can live with short battery life.
