Type: Thermal monoculars Brand: Pulsar
The Axion XM30F is the smallest and cheapest of Pulsar's thermal monoculars. It uses a 320×240, 12 µm detector with a 50 mK sensor sensitivity behind a 30 mm F1.2 lens, giving a relatively high 3x base magnification, a narrow 7.8° field of view, digital zoom in 1x/2x/4x steps to 12x, and a stated 1,300 m detection range.
It has a 640×400 AMOLED display, records 528×400 video to 16 GB of internal memory, and streams over Wi-Fi to Stream Vision 2. The removable APS 3 battery is rated at 7 hours. The body is IPX7 and weighs 310 g with battery (Pulsar's product page gives 250 g without).
Pulsar has discontinued it. Its 320×240 sensor and 50 mK sensitivity are now behind what 256×192 units from HIKMICRO and others offer for less, but it brings Pulsar's build, swappable battery and app to the entry level. It suits fields and open ground; the narrow view is a handicap in woodland.
