The Finder FH35R V2 is a handheld thermal monocular built around a 640×512, 12 µm detector with a quoted sensitivity of 20 mK, behind a 35 mm F0.9 lens. The combination gives a 10.5° field of view, a 2x base magnification with digital zoom to 8x, and a stated detection range of 1,800 m for a standing person. A Class 1 laser rangefinder is built in and reads to 800 m.
It records photos and video to 32 GB of internal memory and streams to a phone over Wi-Fi through the InfiRay Outdoor app. Power comes from a removable pack rated at 5.5 hours; two are supplied, so a night out is covered by swapping rather than charging. The body is IP67 rated and weighs under 400 g.
It suits deer watchers and smallholders working open ground who want the extra detail of a 640 sensor in a pocketable unit and a rangefinder for judging distance. Those who mostly look within 150 m will get similar results from a 384 unit for less.
