Type: Thermal monoculars Brand: Steiner
The Nighthunter H35 Gen 2 is Steiner's current handheld thermal. It uses a 640×512, 12 µm detector quoted at under 35 mK behind a 35 mm F1.0 lens, giving a 12.5° field of view, a stated detection range of 1,800 m and a 50 Hz refresh. The dealer table lists magnification as 1–8x digital; a European review describes it as 2x optical with up to 8x digital zoom, so treat the magnification figures with care.
It has a 1280×960 OLED display, records 1024×768 MP4 video and JPEG stills to 32 GB, and streams over Wi-Fi to the Steiner Connect app. Two removable 18650 cells are rated at more than 8.5 hours and charge in place over USB-C. It operates from -10 to 50 °C, weighs 514 g at 210 mm long, and is described as waterproof without an IP code.
It suits deer watchers and estate users who want a 640 sensor with cheap standard cells and a wide-ish view for mixed ground.
