The Calonox 2 View is Leica's handheld thermal. Its 640×480, 12 µm VOx detector is quoted at 40 mK and runs at 60 Hz behind a 42 mm F1.1 lens, giving a 2.5x base magnification, a 10.3° field of view and digital zoom in 1x, 2x, 3x, 4x and 8x steps to 20x. Leica quotes Johnson-criteria ranges for a 1.7 × 0.5 m target of 2,210 m acquisition, 770 m detection and 390 m identification; the 770 m figure is stored here as detection, which is a far more conservative convention than most makers use, so the numbers are not directly comparable with other brands.
It has a 1920×1080 OLED display, records 640×480 video and stills to 32 GB, and has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth. Two built-in 2,420 mAh cells give roughly 8–11 hours. The nitrogen-filled body is IP67 and weighs 657 g. Figures are from Leica's August 2025 datasheet, which revised the 2023 sheet's display, zoom and weight.
