InfiRay Finder FL25R

The Finder FL25R is a 384×288, 12 µm thermal monocular with a 25 mm lens, a 2.5x base magnification and digital zoom to 10x, and a 10.5° field of view. Its quoted sensitivity of 50 mK is a generation behind InfiRay's current 25 mK and better sensors, which shows on mild, damp nights when temperature differences are small. A laser rangefinder reads from 1 to 600 m with ±1 m accuracy, and a digital compass is built in.

It shows its picture on a 1280×960 LCOS display, records photo and video, and streams over Wi-Fi. The Li-ion battery is rated at 6 hours; the retailer page does not say whether it is removable. Weight is about 320 g. The retailer lists it as waterproof without an IP code, so none is recorded here.

InfiRay no longer lists it, so it appears mainly as clearance or used stock. At a sufficiently low price it is a usable rangefinding 384 for fields and woodland; at near-new prices a current Finder or a HIKMICRO Lynx 3.0 is the stronger buy.
