The Mars 4X or 6X night vision rifle scope is the ultimate dedicated night vision weapon sight. Very similar to the highly rated ATN "Mars" series of night vision rifle scopes (but assembled in the UK) both the "Ultra" (high performance Gen 2+) and Omega (Gen 3) versions of the units feature hand-picked, non-US image intensifier tubes. The end result is a premium grade, fully water-proof to mil-spec, high magnification (6X version) or medium magnfiication (4X version) night vision rifle scope that gives excellent performance for medium /long range shooting, and is suitable for heavy calibre firearms (up to .416 Rigby). Both models feature fog-proof purged optics, top-mounted wheel adjusted focus and very easy to use power/reticle controls. Fitted as standard to the Mars body is an ambient light level detector (to prevent accidental activation in daylight). The Mars night vision rifle scope features a very precise Mil-dot reticle. The user can select the colour of the reticle at the turn of a switch - either red or amber. The reticle illumination level can also be adjusted by the user. This and the ability to select colour gives the night vision hunter the reticle that best suits their needs. Battery cover and windage and elevation turret covers are all tethered by a rubber lanyard, making loss in the field much less likely. The lens cover is the soft rubber military type and contains a neutral density filter for daylight testing. The weaver accessory mount means that IR illuminators (like the IR450 included with the unit), lasers etc can be attached with ease to the top of the unit. The Mars night vision rifle sight is fitted with the US standard 20mm Weaver/Picatinny style mount.
