The LIR200 Infra red illuminator is one of the most powerful laser IR illuminators available, but is still very compact. Laser illuminators are a lot more powerful then their LED driven counterparts, and are especially suitable for giving first generation night vision equipment a performance boost for longer range use, or for closer ranges where the unit is going to be used in extreme darkness. This infra red laser illuminator has a focussable beam-width that can be adjusted from 2-5 degrees, and has three power settings 50, 100 and 200 mW! This means that it can be used over various ranges from close to far, with enough power and coverage to maximise viewing results. The LIR200 on maximum power, can usefully illuminate objects up to 1000 metres away (how far the illumination can be viewed is dependant on the generation and magnification of the night vision device used) but consequently is not eye-safe and care must be taken so as not to direct it into anybodies eyes. A handy silent rotary switch on the back of the unit controls on/off and the three different power settings.
