The IR-100 Infra red illuminator is a very compact, but very powerful IR illuminator for use with night vision equipment. The perfect way to increase the viewing range of your night vision device, and to give an overall boost in performance, this is one of the most powerful, but fully eye-safe, IR illuminators on the market. Its Infra-red diode emits enough invisible light to illuminate an area 180 metres long by 6 degrees wide. This coverage of six degrees makes the IR-100 ideal for use with night vision devices that use 3-4 times magnification (like most night vision rifle scopes) where the illuminated area lines up well with the scopes field of view. The IR-100 features a completely silent twist switch located on the end of the unit.

As an option, the IR-100 is also available with a remote switch and weaver fitting, to allow the unit to be fitted to a weapon (or night vision device) with weaver rails, and to allow momentary use (similar to a targeting laser) via the remote thumb switch (click "Buy" button for pricing details).

When used with a Gen 1 device, the IR gives a boost to the devices performance, which is increased to a level where it is comparable with a Gen 2 device used without illumination, so it is a cost-effective way of maximising the performance of your night vision device. When used with a Gen 2 (or Gen 2+) device the performance is exceptional, with no more dark shadows left in the field of view - the IR beam can reach just about anywhere. Best of all, the unit is completely eye-safe, so it can cause no harm to either yourself or others. The IR-100 runs on a single CR123A battery, and comes complete with a 1/4 inch tripod mount screw fitting, plus a receiver plate which enables it to be mounted to various devices.
