The LIR80AP (similar to the Nayvis or N351) Infra red illuminator is a very compact, but powerful (85 mW) laser IR illuminator that has four power settings. Laser illuminators are a lot more powerful then their LED driven counterparts, and are especially ideal for giving first generation night vision equipment a performance boost for longer range use, or for closer ranges where the unit is going to be used in extreme darkness. This infra red laser illuminator has a focussable beam-width that can be adjusted from 5-100 MOA. Its five MOA (tightest) focus allows it to be used very usefully as a target designator for short range use, while opening out to a wider focus allows it to be used as an illuminator that will completely fill the field of view of most low magnification night vision scopes.

The LIR80AP uses a very clever secureable pivot mount to allow the beam to be aligned precisely with your night vision device,so that when used on any beam-width, the output from the laser illuminator can be directed exactly where you want it. Its adjustable power settings (30-85 mW in increments) means that it can be used with any generation night vision device where additional illumination is required. Please note that this unit is often advertised elsewhere under the name N1000 and as having a power output of 100 mW. This is misleading, because even though the laser diode is 100 mW output, some power is lost in the protective window and lens, meaning maximum actual output is 85 mW.

The LIR80AP comes with a weaver style mount, 4 power setting switch, soft carry case, battery and instructions.
